Where's Jeff completed the double by taking the eleven furlong 'Lisa Todd 40th Birthday Celebrations Handicap'.
The homebred eight year old was recording his eighth career win and has now won three times at Hamilton Park. This afternoon Shane Gray was in the saddle and rode a superb race, timing his run perfectly to beat Don't Look Back by a head in a battling finish. It was a good day for the family as Where's Jeff's half-sister, Sheriff Hutton, finished third in a Point-to-Point over at Charm Park this afternoon. Where's Jeff was named after our great friend, the late Jeff Atkinson, who always sorted our drainage issues on the Farm. When there was a problem with our drains the first thing anyone would say was 'Where's Jeff?' Sadly Jeff Atkinson is with us no longer, having died in a road accident in August 2020. Whenever Where's Jeff races it always evokes fond memories of our dear friend. |
