Billy Garritty got four-year-old grey Capla Lazarus home in front on his handicap debut this afternoon at Redcar.
The son of Phoenix Of Spain was having his fourth racecourse outing and defeated joint 4/1 favourite Titainium by a length and a half. (Yes, we are puzzled by the spelling of the name of the runner-up.)
Capla Lazarus has been with us since being bought as a yearling at Tattersalls in October 2022 and he's a horse who has needed time. Today's win was a just reward for his patient owners, Capla Developments, who have always had faith in their horse and we hope this is the first of many victories.
Capla Lazarus was led up this afternoon by groom Gypsy Liddelow.
